Interesting Things:
- Traditional meal on Fridays is couscous.
- Students stand when the principal or another important adult enters the room. They stay standing until they are told to sit.
- The people who sweep the streets use palm leaves to sweep the street.
- The white line on the road is just a suggestion.
- I was told not to drink the water, do not use the water to brush your teeth use bottled water. Peel your fruit and vegetables. The only one of the rules I followed is drinking the water and I have been just fine.
- The people in Morocco are very kind and hospitable.
- Kids try to sneak looking at their phones just like American students.
- The Moroccans serve their special guests milk and dates when they arrive on their visit.
- The Moroccans' have tea and pastries (cookies) for a morning break especially when they have visitors. My group was served a mid morning tea and pastry break at each of our visits.
- The 8th of March the Moroccan people celebrate the independence of women.
- Moroccan men can have up to four wives but the first wife must give permission first.
